Plant Medicine & Somatic Integration Retreat

January 31st-February 8th, 2025 - Costa Rica

Working with Plant Medicines is a wildly beautiful, intense, and healing process, but without reverence and focus on integration, the insights and magic can become distant memories. The heart of integration is somatic, as the physical body must feel and experience the depth of healing in order for it to be truly embodied.

This very special divine masculine and feminine retreat is for people who hold that integration is sacred and essential to the process of healing. Whether you are a therapist or coach looking to expand your integration skills, or an individual keen on learning more about how to support your own integration, this retreat will teach you more tips and tools to embody this work, so that you may assist yourself and others in the integration process as well.

This retreat features 2 jungle queen (Aya) ceremonies, 1 Huachuma ceremony, and 1 Cacao ceremony. Each day we will learn additional integration tools, with an emphasis on Somatic experiencing techniques. Participants will get to hold space for each other, and be guided by Kat Courtney, Don Moises Llerena, and Faegann Harlow, two medicine women who are pioneers in this work, and an indigenous Maestro from the jungles of Peru. You’ll get the best of both western and shamanic worlds!

Price includes preparation support and 4 weeks of integration as well, and we will all get to take turns holding space for each other, practicing our new skills and sharing our own integration insights.

All PMP retreats are fully focused on safety and the creation of a beautifully healing container. This adventure includes 4 deep and transforming ceremonies, daily offerings with Rapéh, Temazcal ceremony, as well as waterfall walks,, a tree planting ceremony to give back to the land, daily integration training, and so much more! We create a truly safe and nurturing container so you can let go and explore your psyche and heal your body and spirit.

Schedule

Getting to Santa Elana, Costa Rica

The retreat price is all-inclusive outside of air travel and a single night accommodation at a hotel in San Jose our first night of the adventure (plus in-person cash fee for medicines). We will procure a group rate for the hotel so that we can all leave together in the AM to our retreat home. Participants will fly into the San Jose, Costa Rica airport anytime on January 31st, 2025. We will then provide transportation to the retreat at 7 am on day two (February 1st) via a luxury shuttle. We also provide transportation back to the San Jose airport on the last day of the retreat. Please do not book your plane travel until after your application has been accepted. Thank you!

DAY 1 (January 31st) - All participants will arrive on Jan 31st at any time to the San Jose, Costa Rica airport. You'll procure your own transportation (cabs are inexpensive) to a local hotel; we will reserve a discounted block of rooms and share the location with each participant. Everyone is encouraged to get a good night's sleep, as the shuttle leaves at 7 am the next morning from the hotel.

DAY 2 (February 1st) - The shuttle will leave the hotel at 7 am with all participants - it's about a 3 hour drive to our gorgeous sanctuary. Upon arrival, everyone will check in and receive a tour of the retreat, as well as access to their assigned accommodations. We will then have a light, nutritious lunch, and gather together for our opening talking circle. We'll get to know each other, discuss the format of the retreat, and connect with the land, asking for permission to do our sacred work. We will have our first somatic integration workshop that evening after a delicious and nutritious dinner.

DAY 3 (February 2nd) - After a healthy breakfast, we’ll meet for an integration workshop. This will be a full group experience, and Kat + Faegann will begin by setting the foundation for how we will support each other. Different members of the tribe will have an opportunity to reflect back core integration questions. We will then have lunch, and that afternoon we will enjoy flower baths and pre-ceremony interviews. That evening, the first ceremony will commence.

DAY 4 (February 3rd) - The AM will consist of half of the group heading out to a transformative and traditional Temazcal ceremony, working with the power of fire. The other half will enjoy a walk to the nearby waterfall, and swimming/diving is highly encouraged. After lunch, we will learn more integration techniques, and support each other in processing the events from the previous ceremony. After dinner, we will have a fire ceremony to ground in the day’s experiences.

DAY 5 (February 4th) - After breakfast, part 2 of the Temazcal and waterfall walks will commence, leading into a hearty lunch. In the afternoon, we’ll enjoy flower baths and one on one interviews to prepare for round 2 with MamaMedicine. We will share some additional somatic wisdoms before ceremony, and then the second ceremony journey will begin.

DAY 6 (February 5th) - This is our core integration day; we will have 3 workshops allowing people to learn various integration modalities, and we will do our best to embody the recent lessons from Mama. Lots of good food and rest too.

DAY 7 (February 6th) - This is Cactus Day! We’ll have a very light breakfast and begin our Ceremony at 9 am. We will start with some beautiful, heart-connected exercises, and then work with the 4 elements to lay prayers / intentions for the next phase of our lives. We’ll also honor each other, our ancestors, and other beings in our lives that helped make us who we are. At the end of the day we will have a celebratory dinner and enjoy the incredible aftermath of this beautiful medicine.

DAY 8 (February 7th) - After a light breakfast, it’s time to enter into a powerful, sacred portal with Mama Cacao. Our ceremony facilitator is a truly potent carrier of her medicine; we will work with Cacao to embody the lessons of the week, to open our hearts all the more, and to say thank you to the spirits, the medicines, the land, and the people that have made the experience unforgettable. We’ll also have a Tree Planting Ceremony so we can give back to the land. After a big ol’ feast for dinner, we will have a final fire ceremony to prepare for our return to the world the next day.

DAY 9 (February 8th) - After a final breakfast and a chance to honor the incredible retreat staff, we will hop on a shuttle back to the San Jose airport. We encourage everyone to book flights home no earlier than 230 pm local time to ensure plenty of time to make our flights. For those that want to explore Costa Rica further, we are happy to offer suggestions and assist with transportation.
